AFLW 2018: Round 6 Results

A series of upsets in the penultimate round of the 2018 AFLW season. Now, you might say: “but the season has only just commenced”, and you would be right. The season is only seven rounds, but needs to be extended to 20 rounds at least, with a finals series after that, but perhaps that’s a discussion for another time.

 

Greater Western Sydney upset the ladder leaders, Western Bulldogs, and Collingwood put a huge dent in the aspirations of Brisbane. Carlton followed on from their recent poor form and were thrashed by Melbourne, while Adelaide edged out Fremantle in a thriller in Perth, as well as ending the Grand Final chances for the Dockers.

There are still five teams in contention for the Grand Final, which will be played between the two teams that finish on top of the ladder. The winner of the Western Bulldogs–Melbourne clash will go into the Grand Final, while the opponent will come down to winners in the other games, as well as percentage.
